Dead Fishermen
Created with oil pastels and
charcoal stick, and lots of clear coat.
Actual size approx. 29.5 x 14.75"
This is a newer body of work that I am creating and is the result of
moving on from
the NED bunny works, which will also be included on this site after I
get pics from
the slides. I think I am more into this 'We are What' body of work than
I ever was
with the NED stuff.
The Dead Fishermen is a depiction of what is happening in the Japanese
and Yellow seas.
There is no fishing treaty there and they are killing eachother to
preserve what they feel is thier
rights to fish there. The picture I saw in the newspaper of this
actually had a Korean
military sign thrown into the boat, no doubt as a message or to throw
off
who it was that really killed them. Doesn't matter where you live,
fishing is dangerous.
